The band and color guard will march in the Four States Marching Contest this Saturday at Texas High. They have been practicing in the morning and afternoon to get ready for their upcoming competition season.
“Every day we have rehearsals in the morning from 7 to 8:30 a.m. and have sectionals after school throughout the week,” senior Lissy Pich said.
The contest is the first competition of the year, following the PG Invitational Marching Contest Sept. 30. The band hosted the contest and performed an exhibition of their show, “Ascension.”
The purpose of the competition last Saturday was to gather feedback.
“We were not really competing,” sophomore Aubryn Franklin said. “It’s just to get feedback on what to work on.”
The band will be working on aspects of their show for the upcoming region competition Oct. 10 where they hope to qualify for the area contest which is Oct. 21.
