The Lady Hawks will play the Springhill Panthers in Hughes Spring for round two on Nov. 8. After sweeping the Farmersville Farmers in round one, they are hoping to extend their winning streak to seven games.
“I think we just connected super well on Tuesday. And I think if we have the same mindset going into the game, I think we’re gonna be super solid,” senior Julianne Naples said.
The Panthers aren’t a stranger though — the Hawks have already played them twice this year, winning one and losing one.
“We’ve been preparing for this game during practice, doing a lot of quick motion drills,” Julianne said. ”Then watching a lot of film from different teams that have played them, not just when we played them, but just watching multiple different films.”
Even though they have been preparing for this for a while now, it’s still not going to be an easy task.
“They’re a solid team. They have depth, but I think that we’ll be able to pull through and win,” senior Reese Gibbs said. “Because even though they have depth, we have more, sitting on our bench as well, like not just on the court.”
