After another blowout on the road, the Hawks are getting ready to take on the Gilmer Buckeyes tonight at home.
The Hawks have won 5 of their games by more than 27 points this season, but the Buckeyes are a stout team ranked #2 in the state of texas, while the Hawks are #10.
“We’ve been preparing for this game for last couple weeks, and we’ve really stepped up this week, just because it’s a very big game,” junior Walker Wright said, “I feel like we’ve had a lot more intensity going into this game, just because it’s a really big game, and just practice really hard.”
The Gilmer-Pleasant Grove games have a toss up the past couple of years besides last year when the Hawks destroyed the Buckeyes 63-28.
“I think this year will be a little closer. Think we’re both talented but I think we’ll come out on top,” Walker said.
The Hawks are on a roll with a three-game winning streak after handing Spring Hill a 56-14 loss.
