With a new cafeteria, a new athletic facility and new offices, it seems like practically everything is getting revamped.
And that also includes staff.
Down the history hall in room 305 will be Mr. Luke Harmon, who will be teaching 9th grade world geography and coaching. However, this isn’t the first time in these halls.
“I chose Pleasant Grove because it’s home for me,” Harmon said,
“I graduated from here in 2018.”
Coaching alongside Luke will be his brothers Ben and Aaron Harmon. While Aaron has been at PG, his brother Ben Harmon will be joining the staff roster teaching in the CTE hall.
Along with the Harmons, is new teacher Austin Powers who graduated from PG as well.
“I went to Pleasant Grove,” Powers said, “And I can say with confidence, it is the best school district.”
He will be teaching Geometry Regular and Honors, and College Preparatory in room 403 in the math hallway.
Also up the stairs is Ms. Nicole O’Neal in room 503. With her bachelors and masters degree in hand, she will be teaching English III along with College Prep English. She said she is beyond ecstatic to be joining the PG this year.
“I have heard from so many people about how wonderful the Pleasant Grove community is and wanted to be a part of it,” O’Neal said.
Looking forward to this year, she said she has been setting goals she hopes to achieve.
“A major hope I have for this year is to not only help teach my students something new,” O’Neal said, “but to learn new things from them as well.”
Other new staff include drill team director Jessicsa Bolton, guitar class teacher and jazz band director Don Colquitt, and science teacher Carson Wesselhoft.
